Freedom 2 Bike Caravan Rack - Drawbar Mount

Our system features 6mm laser cut steel mount plates that act as a guide for the vertical support pole, and reduce any side movement whilst travelling. Combined with the M12 U bolt, this heavy duty mount will hold your bike rack secure over the toughest terrain. Suits drawbar sizes from 50 x 75mm to 50 x 150mm.

We provide a welded stop position and locator that keeps the vertical support place from moving downwards, and helps to locate it. For added peace of mind, you can use the safety pin, which prevents the vertical support bars from being removed.

This bracket will 'offset' or position the bike rack 223mm from the centre of the vertical support bars. It allows you to bolt the vertical support bars in front of stone guards or gas bottles, yet position the bike over the top of them.

Our Freedom 2 bike rack also includes the standard tilt bracket. This bracket is ideal when you want to position the bike rack directly over the top of the vertical support bars.

Our new cross bar strapping system slides up or down, in and out to meet the cross bar. Once you've got it set, simply use the quick release carabiner and pull it tight to hold the bike in place. The soft rubber prevents any scratching and damage to your bike, and limits road vibration.

To use our centre straps, simply pull the straps around each wheel, attach to the pin with the carabiner, then pull tight. This action pulls both bike wheels into the centre and vertically down, not allowing any side-to-side movement at all.

As an added level of security, we also have a tie-down strap for each wheel that goes through our V channel and around the wheel. With all five straps properly secured, your bike will not move at all — even over the roughest terrain. With all our straps being quick release, loading and unloading is a breeze.

We have designed our bike rack to suit all bikes, including the heavy, modern fat style e-bikes, with a wheel base up to 1350mm (measured axle to axle). Our wide wheel V channel is 130mm wide, so it suits all modern fat style bikes.

Step through bikes with no cross bar will require an aftermarket bolt on bike cross bar (click here to view some online). It is always best to secure the bike as high as possible to reduce movement whilst travelling.

Our rack also will suit: 16" kids bikes, road bikes with narrow tyres, and all types of mountain bikes. You've got the freedom to choose.

When loading a single bike and using the offset bracket, we recommend you load the bike into the V Channel closest to the vertical support bars.

When loading 2 bikes of different weights, ensure the heaviest bike is loaded towards the vertical support bars.

When using the tilt bracket, you can load the bike into any V Channel as the vertical support bar is centred on the rack, and an offset is not provided.

Our offset bracket 'offsets' the weight, so it's important to keep the weight as close to the vertical support bars as possible.

You can bolt our Freedom 2 Bike Rack onto your rear bumper. Most bumpers are only 50 x 75mm, so we recommend resting the bike rack either onto a spare tyre, or another bracing method. The rear of a caravan will 'bounce' a lot more than the front and whilst its possible, correct bike loading must also be followed. We do not recommend E Bikes on the rear due to the increase in movement.
